Albireo Energy Announces Center for Safety & Learning

Albireo Energy today announced the naming of the Larry G. Wash Center for Safety & Learning.

The announcement coincides with Larry Wash’s transition from CEO and Co-Chairman to Co-Chairman and the appointment of Kevin Baxter, formerly President of Albireo Energy, as CEO.

The Center recognizes Larry’s role in strengthening Albireo Energy’s safety culture, expanding employee training and development programs, and building leadership and succession plans.

Advancing Safety Performance

Safety is one of Albireo Energy’s core values and a key focus across the organization.

Under Larry’s leadership, the company strengthened its safety culture through enhanced training, monthly Safety Council meetings, expanded safety leadership resources, routine risk assessments, investments in safety technology and reporting tools, and continued focus on the company’s Safety Must-Win Battles.

Employees now complete more than 40 hours of safety training annually, helping reinforce safe work practices across field, project, and service operations.

Between 2023 and 2025, work-related injuries declined by more than 50 percent while vehicle accidents decreased by nearly 45 percent.

Investing in Employee Development

During Larry’s tenure, Albireo Energy expanded its investment in employee training, technical development, and leadership education.

Today, each employee receives 43+ hours of training annually through programs that support technical, operational, commercial, and leadership development.

Albireo Energy training programs include:

  • Safety and compliance training
  • Building automation and controls training
  • Technical and engineering development
  • Service technician training
  • Project management training
  • Operations and field leadership development
  • Sales and account management training
  • Leadership and manager development
  • Professional certifications and continuing education

These programs help employees develop the knowledge and skills needed to support customers, deliver complex projects, operate safely, and prepare for increased responsibilities throughout their careers.

The Larry G. Wash Center for Safety & Learning serves as the central hub for safety education, technical instruction, operational training, leadership development, and continuous learning.

Supporting the Next Generation of Leaders

Throughout his tenure, Larry emphasized that building a strong company requires developing strong people.

As technologies, customer expectations, and industry requirements evolve, Albireo Energy will continue investing in employee training, leadership development, and professional growth. The Larry G. Wash Center for Safety & Learning provides a dedicated environment to support that ongoing commitment.

By investing in safety, training, and employee development, Albireo Energy continues to strengthen its workforce, support customer success, and create opportunities for employees across the organization.nce.
